20 Minute Apple Cinnamon Donuts
Apple cinnamon donuts are a delightful treat that blends the warm, comforting flavors of fall in a soft sugary cinnamon sweet treat. These donuts are perfect for on the go breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Only taking 20 minutes to make, this quick and easy recipe gives you that taste of autumn with every bite!
Equipment
- 2 Large Mixing Bowels
- 1 Donut Baking Pan can use muffin pan or mini muffin pan
- 1 Plate for rolling your donuts in your cinniamon sugar
- 1 Piping Bag or Gallon Zip-Lock Bag
Ingredients
Donut Batter
- 2 Cups Flour
- ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ¼ Cup Oil
- ¾ Cup Milk
- 1 tbsp. Honey
- ⅔ Cup Apple Sauce
- 1 tbsp. Oil for greasing our pan
Finishing Coating
- ⅓ Cup Brown Sugar
- ⅓ Cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ tbsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. Melted Butter
Instructions
Prep Time
- Before we start on our batter, preheat your oven at 400℉. By the time your oven will be finished preheating, your batter will be ready. It is that quick of a recipe!
- In one of your large mixing bowel, add your flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, sugars, and cinnamon.
- Mix your dry ingredients, just until everything is combined. Let's start on our wet ingredients.
- In your other large mixing bowl, add your apple sauce, milk, oil, and honey. Mix until combined.
- Slowly start combining your wet to dry ingredients. This will create a thick batter, don't be alarmed.
- Now that our batter is made, let's prep our pans. In your donut pan, add your oil and make sure your pan is greased.
- Using a piping bag or a gallon zip-lock bag add your batter. This will make adding your batter to your pan so much easier and cleaner. Slowly start piping your batter into your pan, a little under half way. Your donuts will rising more than you think in the oven.
- Lightly pat your pan onto a counter top before placing into your oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Test at ten with the fork/toothpick tick. Continue cooking until fork is clean.
Cinnamon Sugar Time
- On a plate add your sugars and cinnamon. Gently mix together until combined.
- Coat your baked donuts with your melted butter.
- Roll your baked donuts around until fully coated and let rest.
- Enjoy!!This makes a prefect bake ahead breakfast for those school mornings. To store your donuts place in a airtight container. These are good for 3-4 days, if they make it that long. Your sugar will start to dissolve leaving you with a sweet syrup like coating, which still taste amazing.
